Subject: [Leica] Readying images for the newspaper

I thought that these days, for a picture to end up on the newspaper, it
would have to be shot with a lens shorter than 15mm, or longer than 400mm.

I have a group portrait that's going to go in to the newspaper.
Obviously it's going in in black and white, and I'm saving it as 300
dpi - but I'm assuming that I don't want an image that's very
contrasty.

Can any of you give me some (good?) advice for readying images for
newspaper printing?
