to say neutral and done-to-death examples... have you ever seen a  
river's water flowing like mist? or a b&w landscape with the sky much  
darker than its reflection on the water?

We tend to forget that reality isn't the same for the photographer  
and the viewer and the only pure reality is the one that was unseen.  
Everything in photography, from its very beginning, is a matter of  
choice and, thus, a interpretation of the reality. Only honestity  
counts, no matter if it's prepared artsy stuff or serious documentary  
photography.
