Larry, on reflection, I am living in the past .............. it was  
late '70s when I was regularly in NY.

But in those days, cabs would be shift-worked by various members of a  
family. To-day, I'm sure the same thing occurs ............. but the  
driver probably has taken the exam., or has the same name as the  
owner ............
