Very nice results, Phil. The Pentax *istD is really underrated, and its size
is truly diminutive. And it is really inexpensive to boot.

Show us your daughter's editorial assignment results as well.

For those interested, a few more Pentax DSLR shots, starting here:
http://pswango.smugmug.com/gallery/825205/1/66319112

All 3 were taken around dusk with a Pentax 50mm f/1.7 lens from around 1979
used on a new *istDL. Manual focus and exposure. All were underexposed by
2-3 stops due to my error, and had to be rescued using curves in PS. The
first two are downsized for the web and minimally post-processed with curves
and USM. The last one is a center crop of about 1/4 of the image. If you
view it at "original" size in Smugmug, you can see what the camera delivered
in actual pixels (after curves but no USM). Lowest jpeg quality was used in
camera so these are sort of "worst case". I was running out of memory on a
16 Meg card. I haven't had a chance to try raw or best jpeg yet.

Tomorrow my daughter uses the camera for an editorial assignment for a local
mag -- her first with the new toy.

(apologies for cross posting if you're also on Daniel's Rollei list)
