It turns out that he was dumping all his film-based 35mm gear, since "it's all digital these days." I know this group begs to differ. The outfit he'd accumulated would be particularly useful to photo students, since it's comprised of Pentax K1000 equipment, all of which looks to be in pretty nice shape. The outfit includes: Two K1000 bodies with Pentax 50/2 lenses. I tried out the bodies last night, and they seemed to function properly. One meter was nice and live, and the other meter lacked the SR76 battery (I'll put in new batteries in both bodies today for a better test.) One 135/2.8 Haminex telephoto, with caps. One Vivitar 70-210 Macro f4.5/5.6 zoom One Focal 80-200 f4 zoom. One Promaster flash gun. Vinyl lens purses for the longer lenses. Gadget bag to hold all the stuff. $150 for the whole thing, plus add shipping/packing to your location. No, I don't want to separate, either. I asked the fellow why he needed two K1000s--he said that he often shot with two lenses, and didn't want to change in the middle of a shoot, making this outfit perfect for indecisive moment photographer Unlike the items in the recent sky-high auction, I think it's fairly safe to say that film HAS been through these cameras.
