Subject: [Leica] Getting off topic politically - an occupational hazard

This has probably been mentioned before, but a book I'm reading about the
history of Magnum indicates that HCB and the other founders of Magnum sat
around in cafes and talking about everything except photography (to talk
about photography would be pretentious, according to HCB). They usually
talked about politics. Of course, back then Fascism, Communism, Socialism,
and Nazism were relatively new innovations in the way they were being
applied.

Makes me wonder if there isn't enough to talk about in photography to
sustain a conversation without it veering off into something less
subjective. At least we didn't invent getting off-topic at the drop of a
Tilley.
