Thanks, Eric.  My one friend here in Oklahoma City who can both spell 
and use Leica, Canon and Photoshop suggested the same thing.

First, I am curious as to why the added (multiplied) part took on the 
blueish tinge; I wonder if it was because the dog was photographed in 
the shade and the color there tended toward the bluer part of the spectrum.

More to the point, however, is how to fix it. I thought cutting way back 
on the opacity of the blended layer would work but apparently not.  I 
now wonder if - assuming there is no way to correct the color before the 
multiplying - I could select the blue tinged area and color correct it 
using channels.

Something else to fiddle with next weekend, I guess.
