Subject: [Leica] Off-axis aux VFs

I somtimes have two aux VFs mounted simul on a VC double shoe, e.g., 40 and 
24. Should the left 
(well-off-axis) VF be the wider- or longer-VF? Seems to me the wider is the 
less-affected. Am I correct?
