Greg, if you send me a strip of negatives (may be ones that you don't have 
too much emotional attachment in case Postal goes wrong), I can try 
scanning them on my LS-4000. After all these years, I have some experience 
scanning them. Contact me offlist if you are interested.

I would suspect there is something wrong with the scan, as it is just way 
too muddy for the couple white things. May be even something wrong with the 
optics. I don't know.
