of changing the path of the optical axis.
 

Most major brands of digital have some form of folded optics, all the  
little 
flat ones use that principle.

Even back in the old days of digital, (2003,) Concord introduced a  
proprietary folded lens design.
 
I'm just saying that it isn't a very new concept.
