Same here, I used to use Ilford Delta 3200 but switched to Neopan 1600/Xtol
for exactly the same reasons as Nathan states.

Don is right on the mark here. I have over the years used both Kodak's 
TMax 3200, Ilford's D3200 and Fuji Neopan 1600. The Neopan/XTOL 
combination gave by far the best results in terms of grain and tonality.
