To all who viewed my images,
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

To Alastair's question,
"why use a Leica for this sort of work? The best argument I could give is
the quality of the very wide angle lenses, but with fast film you must like
gritty urbanscapes."

My answer is actually fairly simple, I love the feel of the M, and the 21mm
provides fabulous image quality. There's also something special with the
21mm viewer that allows me to "see and compose" better compared to an SLR.
I use Hassy (500C/M and SWC) at times, but given I'm pretty pleased with M
images up to 20x24, I've elected to use the M when I travel (it's such a
darling little package for travel.) I used Nikon till 1999 before I saw my
friend Charlie's M6 and his beautiful images; at the time, I couldn't
believe such a small camera can produce stunning quality images. Once I
switched, I never looked back. Also the grains don't bother me much so the
trade-off falls in M's favor.

>From Don,
"whatever you do, never mention that you enjoy single malt whiskey"

Well, Don, I never developed a taste for whisky, but I'm a big red wine
lover, and after my wife told me I can only have one glass a day, I went out
and bought a special Burgundy glass that hold about 500ml, which is about
2/3 of a bottle.

Thanks again for viewing my images,

James

James,

Your images are very striking. Looks like you know your way around the
always challenging wide angle. Thanks for posting, and welcome.

Hawdy All,

I just joined the Leica User Gallery yesterday. Since I'm new at this,
I'm
not sure what the proper protocol is to invite folks to view and comment
on
my work. Anyways, my images are at the following URL:

Thanks in advance and very happy to have found this forum.

BTW: I shoot predominately with a M6 and switch between the 21mm, 35mm,
and
the 90mm. I use HP5+ and hand print all images in my darkroom using the
Leica Focomat enlarger. Haven't switched to digital, albeit plan to try
digital printing for large (3x4 feet) prints from film; these large
prints
are too painful to do in the darkroom.
