Thanks Ric,

It wasn't dangerous. Solid brick walls on both sides and no roof above.
The floor was quite a mess though. This is the last of some old
buildings undergoing complete renovation. 

The Coca Cola sign was covered up years ago. Originally an outside wall
it became an interior wall at some point. It fascinates me what's
unearthed during construction. 

I knocked around a bit and was able to see the history of the place,
which included several renovations over the years. Surrounding buildings
were nicely renovated, however with no historical preservation.
Everything looks modern. Even the old train depot next door looks brand
new. 

As you probably know, the Piedmont Region of NC has undergone a bit of a
transition. Once a hotbed of textile and furniture manufacturing, many
factories have shut down as production moved to China over the past
decade. But it's a wonderful area. New industries are moving into the
region.
