Bruce, yes the Summicron is an R lens - there's no way to fit an M lens on
an R body and retain infinity focus.

Must I conclude that the 50mm Summicron is R? Does anyone know if there is
an adapter series for Leica M to EOS? CameraQuest have 42mm Pentax screw
adapters to EOS ........... but no 39mm bayonet or screw Leica to EOS. It
should be possible, certainly for the D20.
