I don't always agree with the particular criticisms - or praise for that matter :-) - but I find all of it very helpful. I've come to the conclusion that there is only one thing as difficult as editing your own writing - and that's editing your own photographs. What you see in the LUG gallery is a cut of the now about 75 or so picks I've made of close to 450 images I've made thus far. Obviously I know what I'm going for, and you don't, so your edits tend to be based on "rules" and what you might be going for. However, even when your calls have nothing to do with what I was trying to achieve, they make me stop and think again about whether the particular shot I love accomplishes what I want it to. Additionally, there's the reality that I sometimes throw images up against the LUG wall to see if they 'stick,' images I can't make up my mind about. All of which is to say that I am grateful for the feedback - it's most valuable. B. D.
