I have the Leica manufactured very small attachment on the round window and it's orange. And works extremely well. So if at all possible I'd look for a piece of gel plastic used for hot lights or a filter of similar colour about a filter "G" colour. You might even be able to find a photo store that still carries plastic gel filters and you could cut it very easily to fit. But without question it works beautifully for focusing. ted Ted Grant Photography Limited 1817 Feltham Road Victoria BC V8N 2A4 250-477-2156 ----- Original Message ----- From: "> Daniel > > > On 12/5/05, Mark <macdude4@bellsouth.net> wrote: >> Leica IIIf very hard to focus >> >> I just acquired a Leica IIIf that seems to be in very good condition, >> BUT, when I try to focus it is very hard to see the second image >> so that I can bring the two into alinement. >> >> I have an M7 and have no trouble focusing on the same object. >> >> As an experiment I went into a semi-dark room and focused on >> the band of light around a window shade, because it was so >> bright compared to the background I had no trouble seeing >> the second image and bringing it into focus. >> >> I measured from camera to window shade and the camera >> seems to be focusing correctly, it's just I cant see to focus. >> >> Are all IIIf's like this ? >> Do I need a CLA ? >> Or is it something else ? >> >> Thanks in advance >> >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Leica Users Group. >> See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information >> > > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information >
