The same thing happens when I try to use the cassette with my M2 and M3. There must be different designs of cassettes because it does work with my IIIf. That is late TTLs only which used parts designed for the M7's DXing to "harmonize" production. The MP is based on the M6 and "should" be OK as are early (most) TTLs.
