Many of the shots have no artistic merit whatsoever, they're just snaps of people I know. You're cordially invited to enjoy them anyway. Here's the whole folder if you don't want to bother with the descriptions: http://gallery.leica-users.org/album186 Mark Rabiner (in-focus) and Richard Wasserman at the LUG dinner Friday night. A very dim restaurant, 1/15 at f/1.5. http://gallery.leica-users.org/album186/1_01RabsDinner Brian Reid, the founder and genial saloonkeeper of the LUG, speaking at lunch Saturday. (Nice to finally meet you in person, Brian!) http://gallery.leica-users.org/album186/1_06BrianSpeaks Tom Abrahamsson doing some major transaction during lunch. Kim gave one of the best photographic talks I've ever heard. http://gallery.leica-users.org/album186/1_20KimK While we had no repeat of 1906, there was a bit of excitement nearby on Sunday morning. http://gallery.leica-users.org/album186/1_23Fire From my 8th-floor hotel window. I was attracted by the "vertigo" perspective, plus the wash and the pair of sneakers drying on the roof. http://gallery.leica-users.org/album186/1_26WashRoof Terance Dixon came all the way from the U.K. to attend. Here his saying something pithy over his pasta penne. http://gallery.leica-users.org/album186/1_27Terance This is not an out-of-focus picture of Mark Rabiner. It is an in-focus picture of LHSA Viewfinder editor Bill Rosauer, yours truly, and Dick Gladden. http://gallery.leica-users.org/album186/1_29LunchMirror A group of us went walking Sunday afternoon. We met these friendly young women from one of the Carolinas, who had rented this little electric Go-Car. http://gallery.leica-users.org/album186/1_33ReadyToRoll http://gallery.leica-users.org/album186/1_33GalsGoCar (previously posted) This was supposed to be a street candid, but the woman on the left spotted me. The look she gave me matched the sign in the background (previously posted). http://gallery.leica-users.org/album186/1_36HiMaintGals M6TTL, 35/2 Summicron and 50/1.5 Nokton, Fuji Neopan 400. All but the last three pics are low-res Noritsu scans from my favorite local lab, which does a decent job on real B&W with Xtol 1:1. No animals were harmed, nor any flash used in the making of these photographs. Enjoy, --Peter _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
