Yes, the Dutch herrings are the best, I was too harsh in my general assessment of Dutch food before. I also like the smoked eel. With the herring, the best liquid for them to swim in is IMO akvavit or a flavored vodka like Zubr?wka. In general, I am always happy to explore any country's cuisine, as those who have met me will attest to :-) My favorite food is Spanish, but even in countries with a poor culinary reputation like the UK or most of Eastern Europe, there are nice dishes to be had.
