It's taking some getting used to. It's so much lighter than the 1DMII that it's like a toy. It's hard to take seriously! I much prefer the way the focus points work in the 1DMII. There are not as many in the 5D and the tiny wheel to control them is too tiny. I like having the wide angle lenses actually show the whole wide angle, but it does show more of the slight fall-off of the wide-angle zoom Canon's that is cropped out in the 1:3 1DMII. I haven't done enough experimenting with the Leica 19 to know if it has any flaws on the 5D, but I'm going to do some more testing before I take it China, ditto with the Canon 24/1.4L. The screen on the back of the camera is big! More like the Digilux screen than the other Canon screens. I don't like the battery which is a slightly improved version of the 10D battery but it still only seems to last about a day compared to the 1DMII which lasts a week or more and the battery loses its charge as it sits on the shelf, unlike the bigger battery. I also don't like the fact that the Big ED - battery grip for the 10D - doesn't fit on the 5D. They changed the position of the connectors just slightly so we'd have to buy a new one :-( The 5D makes a nice back-up camera for the 1DMII, though, and I'm glad I have it to take to China.
