Subject: [Leica] Getting back into New Orleans

We arrived Tuesday night at the New Orleans Parish checkpoint. NOPD would
not let us back in though the National Guard would. So we stayed the night
and attempted to get in Wednesday morning. National Guard again let us
through but not the NOPD. We went to Kinko's to print up business
letterheads which the NOPD told us would work to get back in. By the way,
the NOPD continually played "Bad Boys" in the cars all through Tuesday
night. National Guard calls them the NO-PD.

Anyway, we made it through another National Guard checkpoint without any
problems and then drove to our house. It had been 4 weeks since we've seen
it.

Here are some photos I took of the fire on our block just 1 house away from
us. We were extremely lucky. Only some smoke and water damage.

All Leica books now sitting pretty in an AC storage in FL.

Big thanks to the National Guard, New Orleans would have been lost without
them.
