Subject: [Leica] OT Sony's digital camera plans

Sony and Konica Minolta recently announced a joint agreement whereby they
share technologies. Sony will have access to KM's camera body
architecture (leading to Sony DSLR's with KM's lens mount), and KM gets
access to Sony's chip technology. There are rumours (my damn spell check
tried to change this to "rumors") from fairly reliable sources (sources
whose predictions concerning KM's future have been accurate in the past)
that there is more to the agreement than has been publicly announced. The
same source has predicted a full frame 10+ mp KM model late 2006, perhaps
benefiting from the Sony agreement (the CEO of KM has publicly admitted the
development of a 9D).
