Oh Marc, you're such a revisionist. This administration has had to be
dragged kicking and screaming to even admit that climate change is
happening.

The science behind the claims of human contribution to global warming
is actually very good. It's also on-going and like any scientific
process it has those who argue for and against. But, and it's an
important but, the research and the computer models are becoming very
convincing - UNLESS you don't want to be convinced. If you don't want
to have to take strong steps toward a correction then you can leap on
the opponents' side.

But even the phrasing of your argument clearly shows that you've
already made up your mind and you're willing to obscure your point in
rhetoric rather than face a very nasty problem.

Back in the bad ol' days when I was a reactor operator in the Navy I
remember Admiral Rickover pointing out that when the situation goes to
hell in a hand basket that you tend to see what you want to see and
that it was important to believe your indications and to take
corrective action based on the truth you see rather than the truth you
want to believe which might be easier but will lead to your downfall.

For a long time I had severe doubts about the existence of, and then
the causes of, global warming. I have those no longer. It's real and
there is a human cause and the solution will take generations.

You may differ, but that doesn't make me an "asshole" although,
inveterate or otherwise. That you have to demonize makes your argument
seem awfully insecure.

Adam
