Last night, in the game between the visiting Round Rock Express and the Sacramento River Cats, center fielder Charles Thomas was leading off third base, making little fakes in toward the plate and then retreating when the catcher mis-handled a pitch and Thomas dashed toward the plate, eventually scoring. I like this shot the best <http://www.adambridge.com/Photos/2005/08/09/_L3U4660-bw.jpg> these two bracket it: <http://www.adambridge.com/Photos/2005/08/09/_L3U4646.jpg> <http://www.adambridge.com/Photos/2005/08/09/_L3U4655-bw.jpg> Unfortunately I didn't have an unobstructed view of the entire play (can you imagine: an excited fan jumped to his feet and blocked out the rest of the shot. Earlier we had a particularly nice sunset reflected in the glass building in downtown Sacramento. <http://www.adambridge.com/Photos/2005/08/09/_L3U4662-bw.jpg> These were all shot with the 1Ds Mk II @ 800 and the 70-200mm f2.8L lens.
