Hi Bill,

There have been sightings all over the country and Northamptonshire is no
exception. Ours, a 'large black cat possibly a panther', has been seen
around one of the areas I walk in. If I should meet up with it I will empty
my camera bag climb in a pull the zipper over my head.

The explanation for the many big cat sightings is that a few years back the
law was changed to prevent British eccentrics keeping them as pets. Rather
than turn them over to a zoo or have them put down they took them out into
the countryside and released them.

Our eccentrics now have to content themselves with less dangerous pets to
take for walkies although this could be rasher :-)
