"Highland blended", "Speyside blended" or just "blended". If one talks
about Scotch (JW, Chivas, JB, and so on) it's anyway clear it's neither
about malt nor single. I remember I once had a quite decent Speyside
Aberlour blended malt, and my wife loved it because it had a smooth taste.

Seth, this is as endlessly discussable like the difference between the
bokehs of the different 35 preASPH summicron generations (to stay on topic
:-) ... Whisky-book author Michael Jackson (not to be confounded with the
self-proclaimed king of pop) goes even further recommanding another glass
for every malt... he mentions just everything from handblown snifters to
tin mugs...

Cheers
Didier
