Serial numbers have been pretty useless as indicators of age. The following is from memory... The lens was is the original Contax price list, which I had owend a copy. So it is a really old lens. The earliest versions were nickel plated and had a black band. The llast versions were in aluminum mounts and had a red dot in the rim and was coated. There were a lot of versions, including chrome ones, pre and post war. What are you trying to accomplish? ID a lens you have or want to buy? tell us what you have and see if I can remember it......
