I had a two weeks' work data loss in 1997, as I had forgotten to backup
before a harddisc physically crashed down. My computers are since then
daily mirrored on external harddiscs that are unplugged when not in use.
Beside that I have closet full with x-hundred's of CD's, ZIPs, JAZs, DVD's,
backup tapes, several devices and hard discs from the past 15 years. But my
experience is that I do not need anything of my old data.
