My father bought a Bolsey B2 around 1950 - I still have thousands of his
slides, which are in remarkably good condition. I used the Bolsey for a
while, then in the 60's I got a 2A Brownie for 116 film, which is still
sitting here next to me with the little sticker taped to the back of it that
says "Eastman Kodak Co. will not manufacture Verichrome-pan film in this
size after 1974." I learned a lot about estimating exposures, etc., from
the Brownie. Then I got a Voigtlander Bessa that I used until it just wore
out, and in the late 70's I bought a Pentax Spotmatic outfit, pieces of
which I still own.
I didn't get my first Leica, a IIIc, until the late 90's. Now I have this
plus a IIIa, an M2 and an M4-2.
