Greg:

My wife informed me that there was a Little House on the Prairie marathon
starting at the same time as the race. Yeah, right. She taped it, anyway.
:)

I was born and raised in Indiana. Grew up listening to the race on radio
because it was blacked out through the state. First time I saw it live on
TV was when my aunt and uncle got a huge satellite dish. Pulled in a
Japanese broadcast. :) So we muted the TV and listened to it on the radio.

My wife wonders how anybody could sit and watch cars go around a track 200
times. She thinks it's boring. Man, this is exciting compared to listening
to cars go around and around. I remember lying in the living room of my
folk's house, listening to the radio with a picture of the track nearby.
Not sure what the picture really helped with.

This year's did seem more exciting than the past few. I was actually
rooting for Patrick. I can't remember rooting for a specific driver since
Rick Mears retired.

My car-watching season is now over 'til next year. I really don't follow
any of the races except for the Indy 500.
