having written Midsummer's Night Dream (starring Mickey Rooney) and the 
Italian concerto among others.Non depressing music! The Hebrides"
His Violin Concerto...(Attempted on the trumpet by Maynard Ferguson) His 
"Songs Without Words"
His Grand Niece, Dorthea Mendelsshohn taught at the Chicago Conservatory at 
the time I was a student 1967-1971) and yes...she had to be 100 years old!
