I also think that we have redefined what we think of as a noisy camera.
15 years ago a Leica M was two thirds quieter than the average camera out
there clicking away. An SLR.
Now an M is about the same. Or noisier.
All the 35mm cameras now are whisper quiet. SLR's and DSLR's. They've come a
long way.
They've caught up with and often passed Leica quiet.
