Very nice.  I'm very glad Adam got his Canon EOS 1Ds mk. II otherwise I 
probably wouldn't have bought an R8 for a while.  Aside from the basic 
ergonomic design and the excellent viewfinder (must-haves for me) the 
features that I like best are the motor, the mirror pre-release and the 
manual-mode viewfinder readout.

No.  It's common in California's central valley in the right habitat.  It's 
difficult to photograph well because it's active and it likes forested areas 
where there's no light.  It's one of several species that are unique to the 
central valley and rarely found anywhere else.
