I have a hood 12585H which came with an 35mm summicron with goggles. In shape and size it's equal to the later 12538 plastic hood. When I bought in 1985 a new 35mm summicron (which is now known as the last pre-asph version) it came with the smaller, square hood nr 12524. Both older hoods (12585 and 12538) fit this summicron. However they vignet the image, so are not usable with this 35mm summicron. This I found out the hard way by using my older metal hood instead of the hood (12524) that came with this summicron.
