They performed a general CLA, meaning they cleaned out the haze and
removed the old lubricants and replaced them with new ones. The
blackened
the aperture blades (the edges had worn silver) and either repainted or
touched up the black paint on the interior of the barrel. Then it was
reassembled
to spec.

The front coating has a few tiny blemishes, but it's not a big deal. I
did not
have her re-coated, because I was afraid it would change the
fingerprint of
the lens.

As I mentioned, flare is no longer a problem. When they cleaned out
the haze, they also killed some of the 'glow', which I miss...

Overall there was a very noticeable jump in contrast, especially wide
open.
I also seem to notice an increase in sharpness across the entire frame,
which may be do to the optics being aligned back to spec, but it could
also be a result of the increase in contrast.

Well worth the $150 bucks.

Feli
