Gene:  The only two midrange DSLRs I could stand to view through were the 
Pentax *ist D and Olympus E-1.  If you have R glass you want to use, the 
EOS cameras are your only real option.  But if you are just interested in 
using a decent DSLR, my advice would be to hold, look through and shoot 
with each one, and buy the one that feels the best.  They all work.  Unless 
you have a special need for which one is better suited, ergonomics and 
glass can usually guide you to a decision you can live with.

For me, the viewfinder test narrowed it to two cameras, and the fact that I 
have Olympus glass narrowed it to one.  Of course, I helped rationalize the 
decision by saying that my two finalists seemed the most Leica-like of 
DSLRs. :-)
