Somebody else started it, but here's my bit of useless musicological
information
for today.

A much jollier bloke was Johannes, he worked in a "house of ill repute" in
Hamburg, and I have it on good authority, played the piano for drunken
sing-songs there too.
Some of his sense of musical humour comes over quite well in his Variations
on a
theme from Haydn.
His Requiem (German Requiem)ranks very close to the top along with Faure and
Verdi in my books, followed very closely by Dvorak.

Dicky Wagner was a mean sod, but his kids and grandkids got on very well
with
"Der F?hrer" and called him "Onkel Wolfi".
Douglas
BTW Adolf's favourite was the overture to Wagner's "Rienzi"
