[Leica] Changing face of photoraphy

Has every one totally lost their mind? :-) 

First off, this inane analogy is precisely the same one people tossed
around when motor drives were introduced for film cameras, about 40
years ago. Remember motor drives? Those things people use on their Rs,
and some of you use on Ms?

This reminds me of nothing so much as the "guns don't kill people,
people kill people." Digital cameras don't automatically fire in endless
bursts - they need a photographer to tell them to do that. Tell the
digital camera to shoot one carefully composed image at a time, and
that's what it will do. 

And for a roll of film to be equal to four gig, each image would have to
be a file of over 100 megs.

I like the analogy - nature photography is very much like hunting with 
a sniper rifle, apart from the obvious difference in outcome.  I've 
seen digital photographers go at it like they have a gatling gun, or 
one of those Metal Storm machines.

The fact that every shot costs around a dollar with Velvia makes me put 
quite some thought into the camera setup and then instils quite some 
discipline when the critters finally get out of bed for their shoot.

What's a roll of film equal to?  About 4 gigabytes?
