I tell you why I have no opinion on what lens a person should have, buy or use. Unless I know what their photographic interests are. What I find truly fascinating about this exercise is what the responses of lens use say about the writer's photography. Doug Herr's most used lenses are going to be dramatically different from every LUG list person who does street photography, however we define it. Ask yourself why you miss a 90mm Summicron and a 21mm Elmarit. What would you be photographing with either of those lenses that you cannot now cover with your present lenses? If there are images you are missing and you are missing them often enough and you can afford the price of two quite expensive lenses, that answers your question. That's what I think. ;-) Best, Seth ----- Original Message ----- From: "Didier Ludwig" <rangefinder@screengang.com> To: "Leica Users Group" <lug@leica-users.org> Sent: Wednesday, March 02, 2005 9:41 AM Subject: Re: [Leica] Favourite Lens > Seth > Are you ironic? :-) > Sometimes I have the feeling I'm missing a 90mm Summi... or a 21mm > Elmarit... what do you think? ;-) > Didier > > > >>Didier, that is THE most fascinating array of lenses since this thread >>began. >>Seth >> >> >>>10% 4.5/15mm Heliar (on Bessa L) >>>20% 3.5/28mm Color Skopar >>>20% 1.7/35mm Ultron >>>20% 2.0/50mm Summicron collapsible >>>10% 1.2/50mm Canon >>>10% 1.4/75mm Summilux >>>10% 3.5/135mm Canon >>> >>>less than 0.25% (on FED-2): >>>3.5/50mm Industar-22 collapsible >>>2.8/55mm Industar-61 LD >>> >>>Didier > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information >
