Alastair Thanks for posting this . Has any one ever used 
the S1 ( I think there also was an S2  ) 

Only mention of the camera in use I have seen was donated
or loaned by Leica 
at a Museum for doing copy work ......

Looking at it, I think it would be a fantastic camera for 
still-life
