It works as an incident meter and an absolutely neutral gray card. Therefore, in strange light, you can set your white balance very quickly. You can also take a blank frame to help with batch processing. You have a absolutely neutral capture so you can bring that frame into balance, all frames shot in the same lighting will respond to the same adjustment. The device speeds up work flow, and is neutral unlike a Styrofoam cup. 0.02 Don dorysrus@mindspring.com -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+dorysrus=mindspring.com@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+dorysrus=mindspring.com@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Brian Reid Sent: Tuesday, February 08, 2005 8:43 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] Easy way to set white balance on digital cameras. If that device works the way I think it does, then it is making very unrealistic assumptions about what I am taking pictures of and it can't possibly do a good job under the circumstances in which I would need to use it. _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
