So when I go back, I often try to capture some of that feeling. Sydney's beauty is enhanced by some of her famous man made structures and degraded: at least in my eyes by others, but the Harbour Bridge is my favorite, so here is a selection of images taken for my PAW. This is the classic sweeping image of the bridge from Observatory Hill: http://gallery.leica-users.org/Alastairs-PAW-2005/W6alt3 Classic, but perhaps too obvious. I also tried horizontal images, but in the end liked the church in the foreground. Next a more graphic and "strong" image http://gallery.leica-users.org/Alastairs-PAW-2005/W6alt2 I just love the fact that the pylons were meant to be temporary structures removed once the construction was complete, and here you can see they are not connected to the coat hangar at all. Next the bridge in one of of its most beautiful aspects: http://gallery.leica-users.org/Alastairs-PAW-2005/W6alt1 circular quay. The work a day reality of its construction and the harbour is more than "art", and finally my choice for this week's PAW. The approach to the bridge made by anyone coming from the South and heading North. http://gallery.leica-users.org/Alastairs-PAW-2005/Week6 Cars sweep onto the bridge and its many lanes along with buses trains and walkers. Let me know if you would have ordered them differently or done things in other ways. Comments delightful ;-) Cheers Alastair
