Don't leave your set! The end is nigh! It's going to SNOW!" And then there are the hoards who head for the supermarket at the first suggestion of snow, to pile the grocery cart full of milk, bread, and Twinkies. Can they honestly believe that snow's going to collapse the entire infrastructure and they're going to starve to death?! Meanwhile - IT'S F&$*%ING SNOWING AGAIN!!! They're calling for another 9 inches in Boston - there's nowhere to put the damn stuff... Oh...on a more meaningful note - my wife, who was just checking CNN before heading for work, calls upstairs to inform me that there are 31 U.S. Marines dead in Iraq. -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Craig Zeni Sent: Tuesday, January 25, 2005 8:11 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] You Call that SNOW!?!? Well let's put it this way, B.D...I used to work for a company here in NC that relocated here from Waltham, Mass. The first time we had a couple of inches of snow, all the Boston transplants gave us locals a bunch of grief about being wusses and staying off the roads...nevermind the fact that of the 24 that relocated here fully 1/3 of these 'expert snow drivers' found themselves in the ditch when they slid off the road. They thought they could drive in snow...they found out that they could drive on PLOWED roads, not snow covered rural roads. Next time it snowed, they stayed home :) Besides, without us, where would CNN get all the images of fools sliding around on ice-covered bridges and roads? On Jan 25, 2005, at 3:40 PM, B. D.
