The ETA Valjoux 7750 & 7751 movements are the backbone of
nearly 95% of
chronometer and moon phase watches of today ( most of which
are non certified )
unlike Rolex
It is well known that many newly emerged complication watches
are in fact
embedded with modified ETA movements.
The IWC Portugueser is actually a pocket turned wrist watch -
therefore not
originally designed to take the rough and tough of wrist
movements when
it is supposed to reside snugly in a gentleman's pocket.

I know. Mine has the 3133 clockwork with 23 jewels - thats a former Valjoux
calibre (they bought the whole tooling machine from ETA, in the seventies).
But it's similar than with russian lenses - low quality control - russian
roulette...
