[Leica] Canon D20 price drop

Well - With all due respect to Minolta fans...I doubt it. There is
simply no way that Minolta with it's comparatively limited lens line is
going to make a dent in Canon sales, no matter how good the 7D.

They are probably trying to keep the Canon 20D price competitive against
the new Minolta 7D which was introduced at about the same price as the
20D and compares very favourably from a technical perspective.  The
initial price of the 7D was high, but is showing signs of dropping.
