Subject: [Leica] PPA in New Orleans

Just got back from a quick visit to the PPA in New Orleans. The Leica
booth had a prototype of the digital R. It looked very good, and the
enormous test photo was pretty impressive (if you like to count peach
fuzz hairs on a model's nose). Chris handled it much more than I.
Size-wise, it seemed studio-like, but was light enough to not cause
hernias.

They also had the two CM P&S cameras there. Much smaller than they
seem to be in their ads, and relatively quiet. Lighter and less
substantial feeling than the Minilux, which should turn off many
Leicaphiles.
