What would you have us say, Sander? If any of the others share my sense
of speechless dismay, then this alone is reason for the silence. I've
been following the heartbreaking reports and some of the blog sites (as
were reported in the NY Times yesterday), but in the face of such
catastrophe, mere words seem a trifling response.

Thanks! We are still somewhat shaky after the experience.
Heartbreaking TV reports. Can hardly bear to see them.

Very humbling I should say. Puts lots of thing in very different
perspective.

The silence on the LUG speaks for itself: Susan Sontag is closer to
reality
than the possibly biggest natural disaster in known history.
