Downside - like the digital Rebel, it's not a pro body, not sealed the way the E-1 is - although unlike the Rebel, it is a metal body with a solid feel to it. The mirror, rather than prism-based viewfinder is okay, but it's not as good as the E-1. I can do manual focus on the E-1 with no problem; it's pretty iffy on the Evolt. Most of the same features, but some are somewhat limited - for instance there are far fewer saturation, sharpness, and contrast settings. The autofocus is instant and right on- even better than the E-1 which is fine. Nice built-in flash. Good color rendition. But frankly, the b&w mode is so good, I will probably use it as a b&w-only second body. The 8 mgp is nice, in that it makes cropping more doable. Keep in mind - for anyone who isn't aware - that I get this stuff free from Olympus. -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of eric Sent: Sunday, December 26, 2004 7:30 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] For anyone who's interested... very interesting.. neat compact DSLR. some many choices out there..
