And the lack of it was one of the things that at that point eliminated either the R6.2 -which I loved - or the R8 for me. I ended up going back and forth between the Minolta 9000 whatever and the Nikon F100, and the Nikon won out for the range of available lenses, and the features for cost ratio. That Minolta body was a true stunner, but I was concerned about the limited number - and aperture speed - of the lenses. Don't put down AF, it can be a Godsend. And I would suggest that had it been available in "the day," most - not all - but most of our Tri-X Gods would have used AF cameras (yes, often on manual :-) ) just as most of today's PJ Gods use them. Tell me that Capa wouldn't have killed to have had Nikon F5s or the new Canon MarkII digitals on D-Day...;-) And NONE of the above is meant to denigrate manual focus or the people who use it. I am one of them. But AF is a terrific thing to have. B.
