And why do I think that Ted will not only continue to turn out
world-class images, he will continue to turn out images that will be
better than about 98% of those produced by people working with the Leica
digital R back - if it ever appears.

And why is that? It's because the difference between Ted's skill as a
photographer and the photographic skills of most people who will buy the
R back are obvious, while the differences in image quality between the
D20 and the R back are unlikely to be observable under most real world
circumstances. ;-)
